Factory-Correct Restoration A restoration focused on returning the vehicle to its original showroom condition using OEM-correct materials and finishes. Starting at $200,000 and up Recommended Paint & Body Tier: Daily Driver Restomod Classic aesthetics paired with modern performance, comfort, and reliability. Pricing depends on a range of factors, including: Vehicle condition and complexity Scope of fabrication, mechanical work, and customization Parts availability and originality requirements Paint quality and bodywork detail Finishes across the chassis, engine bay, and interior A Collaborative, Transparent Process Each project begins with a detailed inspection and client consultation. From there, we develop a tailored scope of work, including estimated timelines and investment range. At FFR Fabrication, we treat every project as a partnership and every vehicle as a legacy.

How long does it take to finish a restoration or full build? The timeline for completing a classic car restoration or full custom build can vary greatly and often takes much longer than what is typically portrayed on TV. Unlike the quick turnarounds you might see on shows, a thorough restoration is a time-intensive process. Here are the key factors that influence how long it might take: Scope of the Restoration: The extent of work needed plays a significant role. A full frame-off restoration, which involves disassembling the car down to its frame and rebuilding it from scratch, will naturally take much longer than a partial restoration or a project focused on cosmetic updates. Condition of the Car: The starting condition of the vehicle is crucial. A car that has been relatively well-maintained and requires only minor repairs or cosmetic work can be completed faster than a car that is in poor shape and needs extensive mechanical, structural, or bodywork repairs. Availability of Parts: The availability and sourcing of parts can greatly affect the timeline. Rare or discontinued models may require sourcing hard-to-find original parts or high-quality replacements, which can lead to delays. Customization and Modifications: If the project involves significant customizations or modifications beyond the car's original specifications, the timeline will extend. Custom work requires meticulous planning, design, and fabrication, all of which take time. Shop Workload and Scheduling: The workload and scheduling of the restoration shop can also impact the timeline. Reputable shops often have multiple projects in progress and may have a backlog that affects when your project can start and how quickly it can progress. Unforeseen Issues: Classic cars often have hidden problems that are only discovered once work begins. These unexpected challenges, such as rust hidden under the paint or worn-out internal components, can add time and complexity to the project. Taking these factors into account, a classic car restoration can take anywhere from several months to several years. Smaller projects or those involving less intensive work might be completed in a few months, while a comprehensive restoration involving a complete teardown and rebuild could take a year or more. It’s important to have realistic expectations and be prepared for potential unforeseen challenges that could extend the timeline.
-
Can you finish a project that was started at another shop? While we generally prefer to handle a project from start to finish, FFR Fabrication is open to completing a project that was started at another shop. We understand the unique challenges that can arise in such situations, and we approach them with transparency and a commitment to quality. When taking over a restoration or build started elsewhere, we need to carefully assess the work already completed. This evaluation process can be complex and may require additional time and resources. There can be unforeseen issues or discrepancies in the previous work that could affect the project's timeline and budget. At FFR, our priority is to deliver excellence, which may mean investing extra effort to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and client satisfaction. Our team communicates openly with clients throughout this process, setting clear expectations and working collaboratively to achieve the desired outcome. It’s important to understand that this might involve extending the project duration or adjusting the budget to guarantee the quality of the restoration. FFR Fabrication is known for ensuring the best possible outcome in restorations and custom builds. Therefore, if we find any work that was done incorrectly, we will only proceed if you are willing to address those issues and make the necessary repairs. This approach is essential to maintaining our standards and delivering a result that meets both our expectations and yours.
-
Can I save money by doing some of the work myself? At FFR Fabrication, we value collaboration and recognize that many clients have a deep personal connection to their classic cars, often desiring a hands-on role in the restoration process. To accommodate this, we offer a collaborative approach where clients can actively participate in specific aspects of their restoration. While this involvement can deepen the owner’s connection to the project, it’s important to be aware of potential challenges. Classic car restoration is a complex process that requires a high level of expertise. DIY involvement can sometimes lead to unintended mistakes, quality compromises, or even safety concerns. Therefore, close coordination between our skilled professionals and the client is crucial to ensure that the restoration aligns with industry standards and maintains the highest quality benchmarks. However, please note that, under no circumstances, do we allow clients to work on their cars within our facility. Any work that a client wishes to undertake themselves must be done at their home or personal shop. Our goal at FFR Fabrication is to provide a collaborative and fulfilling experience while preserving the integrity and authenticity of the restoration process. We work closely with clients to find the right balance, allowing them to be involved while ensuring a successful and lasting restoration outcome.

Why would I restore my car?For some, a classic car holds irreplaceable sentimental value, whether it’s a family heirloom, a connection to cherished memories, or a symbol of a bygone era. For others, the process of restoration is a hobby they are passionate about, offering hands-on involvement and the satisfaction of seeing their hard work come to life. Either way, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of turning the key and driving the car of your dreams. Many true car enthusiasts seek something unique—something that sets them apart from the rest on the road. They know that a custom-built or fully restored car can bring more joy and pride than a vehicle purchased off the lot, even if it's brand new or already restored. A restoration or custom build allows for complete creative freedom, transforming a classic car into a true piece of art that reflects the owner's personal taste, style, and vision. With the right craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality finish, these cars become unique masterpieces, offering a level of satisfaction that few other experiences can match.

What is the FFR Process? At FFR Fabrication, we offer a wide range of services to meet all your classic car restoration, customization, and maintenance needs. Initial Inspection We begin with a thorough inspection of the vehicle, evaluating the body, engine, interior, electrical systems, and mechanical components. This comprehensive assessment helps identify the car's condition and any immediate needs. Scope of Work Development Following the evaluation, we finalize our notes and findings to outline a recommended scope of work. This includes a detailed restoration plan with timelines and estimated costs. Disassembly The vehicle is carefully disassembled, with all parts bagged, tagged, and documented for restoration or reference. During this stage, hidden issues may come to light, prompting another discussion to update the scope of work as necessary. Structural Repairs and Fabrication The bulk of the restoration occurs here. We address rust repairs, perform necessary fabrication, and complete structural work. To ensure precision, the car is fully assembled for testing before disassembly for paintwork. Bodywork and Paint This stage rejuvenates the vehicle's exterior, restoring its beauty and character through meticulous bodywork and high-quality paint application. Mechanical Overhaul Engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems are inspected and refurbished or replaced as needed. This ensures optimal performance and reliability. Interior Restoration The interior is restored to preserve the original aesthetic or customized to reflect your vision, all while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship. Reassembly and Finalization The project culminates with reassembly, testing, and fine-tuning to deliver a vehicle that performs as beautifully as it looks. Challenges and Expectations Classic vehicles and hot rods often come with surprises, which can influence the project’s scope and costs. While our initial inspection is thorough, certain issues may only surface during disassembly or restoration. This is why it’s important to approach a restoration project with flexibility and an understanding that adjustments may be needed as we progress. Billing and Payments Time and Materials: All work is billed based on time and materials. Our Current Hourly: rate is $250/hour, and we track the actual time spent on your project. Weekly Invoicing: Invoices are sent weekly, covering work completed and parts purchased. Payments are expected within five days of receiving the invoice.
The majority of the Technician/Fabricator’s work will be spent participating in repairs, fabrication and maintenance of client’s vehicles. A standard 40-hour workweek applies. Some areas of the job site may be hazardous so protective gear should be worn when appropriate.
